Ethical Guidelines – Malthe Winje Group
1) Purpose and Scope
Malthe Winje (including subsidiaries and members of the MW Group) is committed to conducting business in an ethical, responsible, and sustainable manner. Our Ethical Guidelines apply to all employees, managers, and board members of Malthe Winje, as well as to suppliers, customers, partners, and other external parties with whom we establish business relationships.
The Code sets clear expectations for ethical behavior, respect for human rights, environmental responsibility, and professional business practices. These obligations also apply to subcontractors and other parties in the supply chain.
2) Ethical Principles and Responsibility
- Act with integrity, honesty, and fairness.
- Avoid corruption, bribery, and conflicts of interest.
- Treat people with respect and dignity.
- Ensure responsible use of resources.
- Protect the reputation of the company and our partners through professional conduct.
3) Human Rights and Labor Standards
- We respect internationally recognized human rights (UNGP, OECD).
- No form of child labor, forced labor, or modern slavery is tolerated.
- Workers shall have fair wages, reasonable working hours, and safe working conditions.
- The right to organize and engage in collective bargaining shall be respected.
- We have zero tolerance for discrimination and harassment.
4) Health, Safety, and Work Environment
- We shall ensure a safe, inclusive, and health-promoting work environment.
- Partners and suppliers must protect workers’ health and safety through training, protective equipment, and prevention of accidents and injuries.
5) Environment and Sustainability
- We operate in accordance with ISO 14001 and national environmental requirements.
- We shall minimize negative environmental impacts and promote energy efficiency, waste reduction, and circular solutions.
- Suppliers and partners must document compliance with relevant environmental requirements.
6) Business Ethics and Anti-Corruption
- We have zero tolerance for corruption, bribery, and undue advantages.
- All decisions shall be based on objective criteria, not personal interests.
- Suppliers and partners must comply with relevant anti-corruption laws (e.g., UK Bribery Act, FCPA).
7) Export Control, Trade, and Sanctions
- We comply with all applicable export control and sanctions laws.
- We do not cooperate with parties subject to international sanctions.
8) Privacy, Data Security, and Confidentiality
- We protect confidential information, personal data, and intellectual property rights.
- We comply with ISO 27001 and GDPR.
- Partners and suppliers must maintain equivalent information security routines.
9) Sexual Exploitation and Harassment
- We have zero tolerance for sexual exploitation, harassment, and abuse.
- No exchange of goods or services for sexual favors is accepted.
- Suspected cases must be reported and handled immediately.
10) Supply Chain and Subcontractors
- Suppliers shall ensure that subcontractors also comply with the requirements of this Code.
- Documentation and transparency in the supply chain are mandatory.
11) Transparency and Whistleblowing
- We encourage reporting of breaches of this Code through established whistleblowing channels.
- Whistleblowing will be treated confidentially and without retaliation.
- External partners may also report through our channels.
12) Monitoring and Compliance
- Malthe Winje may conduct audits or inspections of suppliers and partners.
- Partners must provide necessary documentation.
- We expect cooperation on continuous improvement.
13) Consequences of Breach
- Internally, violations may result in corrective measures, warnings, or termination.
- For external parties, violations may result in corrective measures, termination of contracts, or business relationships.
- Serious legal violations may result in legal consequences.
14) Review and Updates
- These Ethical Guidelines will be reviewed regularly and updated when necessary.
- Changes will be communicated to employees and external partners.
