Malthe Winje Infrapower develops and implements small scale hydropower plants in a sustainable manner safeguarding international best practices.
Our Focus
Small Hydropower and hybrid plants between 0.5 – 20 MW
We target small run of river hydropower plants with limited storage capacity to harness the available renewable energi with minimal social and environmental impact. In order to enhance the firm power delivered we look for hybrid opportunities with smaller solar PV installations.
East Africa
We focus on the East Africa market as we see a region with tremendous untapped potential. We have established a regional hub in Nairobi (Kenya) from where we will recruit regional talents to our projects.
Turn-key project implementation
We deliver complete Turnkey Project Implementation of both green field projects and upgrading/rehabilitation of existing plants.
Local partnering and investment
Our strategy is to partner with local private project developers in the advanced stages of project development and invest in the local SPV’s as shareholders.

We provide complete Turnkey Project Implementation with technical review and design, EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) delivery, commissioning and handover together with favourable financing solutions.
For the smaller rivers, we are developing a standardized and containerized hydropower plant solution, fully automated and remotely surveyed and controlled with island mode capabilities. The unit can optionally be equipped with a water purification system enabling the supply of both electrical energy and drinking water.
